In November, Business Made Simple University will release a new course called “Hero On A Mission”.
This essentially, is a productivity course, like the one Donald Miller taught earlier this year (Donald Miller Teaches Productivity).
However, the distinction is that a consultant or BMS Certified Coach will teach clients the framework found in the course.

Hero on a Mission Course Structure
The course will focus on three primary areas:
- Life Plan
- Goals
- Daily Productivity Planner
The course also makes several promises that relate to these three areas. Once you complete the course you (or your clients) will know how to:
- Focus on what matters
- Do what you need to do, despite how you feel
- Make progress every day on your life goals
- Get enough done every day so you don’t feel like you’re wasting your life
- Make sense of your life
Becoming a hero on a mission will allow you and your clients to create a meaningful life by leveraging meaningful projects, having an optimistic view on challenges, and a community of people to share life with.
Below is an exposition on the three primary areas that this course will focus on.
Hero on a Mission Life Plan
In a similar Business Made Simple fashion, the Life Plan consists of three components:
- Your Obituary
- Story Summary
- Visions
The obituary consists of a climactic scene that you will use to re-engineer your life and it will give your story a direction that ensures your life is meaningful.
Your story summary asks what in life you most want, what you are willing to sacrifice to get it, and ultimately, why should people care about your story? Remarkable stories define an ambition, involve challenges that must be overcome, and inspire or help people. It serves as the pitch of your overall life if you will.
Finally, the vision section comes last in your life plan. You will map out your 1-year, 5-year, and a 10-year vision. Where do you want to see yourself in those timeframes? Shoot for those ideals.
Once you have the vision set, then it’s time to set your goals so you ensure you achieve that vision.
Hero on a Mission Goals
The goals section is also straight-forward. What are your goals and how will you ensure that you reach them?
Business Made Simple gives a simple goal-setting formula that you can use to set and achieve goals.
- Name the goal
- Understand why this goal is important (to you or your client)
- Completion date
- Goal accountability partners
- Goal milestones
- Daily sacrifice
- Project pieces that you must complete
- Scorekeeping
Once you have named your goals and developed a plan to achieve them, then we turn towards your daily planner.
Hero on a Mission Daily Productivity Planner
The daily productivity planner is how you will work towards your vision and goals daily.
The productivity planner will carry out eight things for you:
- Keep you on track to carry out your life vision
- Remind you of your story summary
- Separate your important projects from your tasks
- Help you experience a sense of meaning every day
- Inspire you to work rather than procrastinate
- Keep you aware of your appointments
- List your tasks
- Remind you of your goals
The purpose of the daily planner is to keep you focused on the work that will get you where you want to be in life. Once you begin using the planner, you’ll see how it adds structure to your life and allows you to be your most productive self.
Once you’ve mapped out and implemented the use of the daily productivity planner, you’re well on your way to living a more productive life and being a hero on a mission.
In Summary
That is a preview of the soon-to-be-released Business Made Simple course, Hero On A Mission.
In this course, you’ll learn how to create an aspirational life plan, develop goals to achieve that life plan, and leverage a daily productivity planner to ensure your day-to-day helps you with your overall life plan.
Be on the lookout for the new Hero On A Mission course coming to BMSU in November 2020.
